Biography

Werd geboren als Conny Hollestelle te Den Haag. Ze liet zich voor het eerst opmerken tijdens het Belgische Knokkefestival van 1961, waarna ze een platencontract in de wacht sleepte. In 1965 vertegenwoordigde ze Nederland bij het Eurovisiesongfestival. Met het liedje 't Is genoeg werd ze elfde. Een jaar later was er de eerste hit, Ik ben gelukkig zonder jou. Toch brak ze pas door in 1974, toen ze na overschakeling op een andere platenmaatschappij overstapte op een luchtiger repertoire en haar grootste hits Roosje m'n roosje en Sjakie van de hoek uitbracht. Conny overleed twee weken nadat was vastgesteld dat ze leed aan longkanker.
