Claude Cohen-Tannoudji was een Algerijns-Frans natuurkundige die in 1997 de Nobelprijs voor Natuurkunde kreeg met Steven Chu en William Daniel Phillips "Voor de ontwikkeling van methoden om atomen af te koelen en te vangen met laserlicht".
